5 essential phases
Throughout this entire process, we provide guidance, strategic insight, and act as a reliable and independent business partner.
1. Inventory phase
In the inventory phase, the focus is on a thorough analysis of the client’s needs and the intended goal. We delve into the specific requirements and conditions for the new installation. During the light analysis, we use climate data from NASA’s LARC Power project to calculate solar radiation based on the ten-year average for the exact location. We evaluate the sunlight throughout the year, identify any deficiencies, and determine the required light spectrum.
Next, we conduct a technical analysis to assess the possibilities for grow light installations and identify any necessary adjustments. We also examine the existing electrical installation to determine which components can be reused. The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is analyzed to provide a complete financial overview, including purchase costs, operating costs, and payback periods.
At the end of the inventory phase, we present one or more project options that meet the client’s needs, and we invite the client to our Experience Center to view the options in real life.
2. Inquiry phase
In the inquiry phase, we work together to define the project scope, after which we prepare a detailed lighting plan request for quotation. Based on this plan, quotes can be requested from suppliers. During this phase, we also select suppliers and create a comparison table to evaluate different options of suppliers. Additionally, we conduct meetings with the client and suppliers to review the submitted quotes, lighting plans, and electrical installation designs.
3. Procurement phase
4. Project phase
During the project phase, we remain involved as a partner of the client. Serving as a knowledgeable partner during technical execution or in case of obstacles, we also act as a liaison for the different stakeholders and monitor delivery times. Once the new grow light installation is in place, we assess whether the delivery adheres to the agreements by conducting a precise light measurement according to the conditions outlined in the report ‘measurement protocol – light measurement in greenhouse horticulture’.
5. Life cycle phase
Once the new grow light installation is in use, we provide support to the customer for any questions or issues regarding the installation. We also assess the annual light measurements according to the agreements made.
After the project is completed, we remain involved, not only with this installation project but also with new ideas for other or new greenhouses. Experience has shown that our clients remain clients, creating an infinite cycle.
